Episode Zero is live: The genesis of my new podcast ✨

Hey Reader,

I'm delighted to share that the first episode of The Mettā Interview podcast is now live!

The show is a new interview format I've been developing over the last couple of months as a way to introduce the guest experts and contributors who'll be joining me in Le Trente.

Meeting around what matters

Each interview will start with me pulling at the threads to tell the story of my guest, and then we meet around a question that feels alive for them. Think of it as 30 minutes of me helping them talk about who they are and what they do — revealing them to the audience — before diving into something that matters deeply to them.

By meeting around a question that feels alive for them, neither my guests nor I show up as experts ready to deliver the goods, so to speak. Instead, we're offering a piece of ourselves: Here's what I'm struggling with, here's what my work is trying to answer.

By tackling a question together, we don't know where the conversation will take us. There's this space of the unknown. We come prepared, but ready for discovery. And we hope you'll come along for the ride.

While it felt natural to slip into interview mode, creating a short trailer felt wrong somehow. I got a bit stuck. It also took me some time to find the right music for the intro. After a few days of pondering on it all, I chose to dive into the full story of how I came to this project — the genesis, if you will. Once a storyteller, always a storyteller.

In this episode, I tackle questions you might be asking:

  • Why a new podcast?
  • How did launching Out of the Clouds change the trajectory of my career?
  • And how does this fit with the mysterious social learning studio I'm developing?
  • How are the two podcasts different?

This concept is brand new, so I don't expect to get everything right—not immediately, and maybe not ever. I'm in recovery from acute perfectionism, so launching this podcast is a big step in the right direction.

Stories over advice

A few years ago, I came to understand that we learn from each other — not from opinions and advice, but from stories and from witnessing how others move through the world.

I wouldn't be where I am today without Sue and Nicole, the two women entrepreneurs who taught me everything about managing a retail business.

I wouldn't be the creative problem solver I am without learning to "make magic happen" for my former employer, Christian Louboutin.

Nor would I be a mindfulness teacher and facilitator without guides like Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield, and Sujay —the first person to lead me through a metta meditation years ago in Koh Samui, Thailand.

It's this belief — that we learn from each other's stories — that powers Le Trente. I'm creating spaces (both physical and digital) where meaningful connections flourish, helping people discover their authentic voice, share their stories, and build connections rooted in presence and compassion.

And it starts here, with The Mettā Interview.

A note on format

One of our regular salon attendees mentioned that as a working mother, listening to podcasts rarely fits her schedule — she finds reading much easier. While I initially turned to audio because it suits my lifestyle (walking, cleaning, driving), I hear her. Reading takes less time; audio can feel like too much commitment.

That's why this project includes full transcripts for each episode and show notes. Eventually, my hope is that we will compile the first 30 interviews into a beautiful zine for year one, and that we will release it through Metalabel.

For the first time, we're offering both audio and video. You will be able to watch full interviews on YouTube while the podcast lives on the website.

You might discover this isn't for you, and that's okay.

This isn't meant for everyone — it's for curious seekers, in need of a dose of inspiration, ready to lean in. Like skiing down a slope, sometimes we have to lean toward the unknown to find our momentum. And for those open-minded souls who crave depth over speed, who are intrigued by the idea of exploring questions together over being told what to think

What's next

Next week, I'll be sharing my first interview with my brilliant friend, Amber Theurer. Until then, I hope you enjoy Episode Zero.

All support is meaningful and much appreciated. Have a listen and drop me a line with your thoughts.

Much love,
