Hey Reader,
I'm excited to share that Le Trente is launching a new service close to my heart: Story-Amplified, a brand new bespoke podcast development programme for purpose-driven individuals and organisations.
Although the business development process has felt dreary at times (a business plan has so many "shoulds" to navigate!), I feel a tremendous amount of excitement as I continue to evolve Le Trente's offerings. Flexing my creativity muscle never fails to energise me, and that's precisely what happened last Tuesday during one of my walks.
There I was, circling a nearby park, trying to get my steps in and enjoying the fresh morning air. You can’t call what I do power walking per se, but it’s a precious moment - you see, this is me walking myself, without my dog. He tends to make me stop every other metre to sniff at something. Some days, I just want to walk. Plus, the sun was out and so were the flowers. I could have listened to an audiobook but I decided to try a new podcast - I have a lineup of perhaps five or six at all times in either Apple Podcast or Spotify. And that’s when I had an “aha!” moment that crystallised something I’ve been observing for months:
The podcasting world is suffering from two critical failures:
- Poor audio production
- Poor storytelling
Just recently, I listened to 30 minutes of a host and guest discussing what sounded like a fascinating book. They circled around what might have been the gold of the work, but no actual story was told. I was repeatedly informed that the book was “great” and the contributors “brilliant”, yet I didn't get a shred of connection to what these two men were passionately discussing.
This struck me deeply because, as you may know, I've been nerding out on storytelling for years. Also, I know these two were genuinely excited about what they were talking about. And yet, it was falling completely flat. I recognise this pattern because I've been guilty of it myself! I remember a Zoom call with several impressive women where, when prompted to share something of myself, I stayed at a lofty conceptual level. I'd be surprised if anyone truly understood what I was talking about.
For humans to connect, story is our fastest medium. And audio? It's our oldest form of communication.
Think about it: when you listen to a great story, their words travel to you, and if they are descriptive enough, your mind will start to paint a picture in resonance with the speaker. It’s nothing short of magic, if you ask me.
This is something I've been cultivating with my podcast Out of the Clouds for nearly five years, bringing together my background in luxury communications with my passion for mindful, meaningful connection to the guests that I’ve invited. And boy, have they told me great stories.
For my top episodes, I urge you to listen to the following interviews: Arthur Gourounlian, choreographer and incredibly generous human; Jennifer Fisher, fine jeweller and powerhouse entrepreneur; Sari Azout, a recent guest, the founder of personal management tool Sublime.App; or Julie Granger, ex-ballerina turned barre and yoga teacher/entrepreneur. Oh, let’s add one more: Martin Popplewell, media trainer and ex-broadcaster. His is probably the most surprising story of all.
With each conversation (and subsequent edit), I’ve listened to them over and over again, so you could say I had a masterclass and I’m an expert on my guests. Those stories that stay with me the most are, you guessed it, the ones that were the most visceral, the most descriptive. Many of these opened worlds in my mind. I believe there is something very generous in giving your story to others. Which brings us here.
As Le Trente continues to evolve, I've realised that at its core is the idea of Resonant Storytelling. This is why I'm launching Story-Amplified — to offer select individuals and organisations the support that Le Trente is uniquely positioned to provide:
- Strategic podcast consultation for those just beginning their audio journey
- Comprehensive concept development for those ready to launch
- Specialised "PodClass" development for educational content creators
- End-to-end production that ensures your message is heard with clarity and impact
- Ongoing coaching for existing podcasters seeking to elevate their content
What sets this service apart is my approach: combining my years as SVP of Global Communications for Christian Louboutin, my training as a mindfulness coach and my experience in creating content that truly resonates. After all, in the luxury world, I learned that exceptional experiences require both vision and meticulous execution — something I bring to every audio project.
If this sounds like it’s for you, great! Get in touch. If not, maybe it’s something that someone you know could benefit from. If so, please forward them this email.
I had so many a-ha moments listening to podcasts over the years, I couldn’t be more excited about the idea of guiding emerging thought leaders and helping them to put their words out there, so that they can have their own ripple effect on the world.
As always, thank you for reading me, and until next time.
Warmly,
P.S. Already have a podcast that could benefit from an upgrade? I can help with that, too. Just drop me a line.
