Why masterclasses? (And why today's one matters)

Hey Reader,

Yesterday, I realised something: I've been inviting you to join me for live masterclasses, online and in person, without taking the time to tell you how I came to name them that, what the format actually is, or what's in it for you.

My bad. Perhaps because I write to you regularly, I assume you have access to my every thought.

So, what is a masterclass, exactly?

I love the word itself. Master speaks to expertise. Class suggests something more like a lecture — which means you can sit back, take it in, and let the guest expert or coach do the heavy lifting. It's intentionally lower-effort than a workshop: limited participation, more absorption. Workshops, like the Story of You Fundamentals I'm offering again on 17th March, are hands-on by nature, meant to be experienced live.

A masterclass runs for about an hour: roughly 45 minutes of presentation followed by a live Q&A for those attending in real time.

And the pay-what-you-can model?

Because the format works beautifully on recording, I've built it around accessibility. Your commitment to join live starts at just 1 CHF. And if you can't make it in real time (life happens), you can still register and watch in your own time and get most of the benefit.

Why does any of this exist?

At the heart of Le Trente is a simple belief: we learn from each other. The masterclasses, the workshops, the podcasts, the essays, they're all channels for sharing stories, ideas, and what some would also call hard-won wisdom. My role is to facilitate those channels. The live element is precious, and I know it asks something of you. I hope you can feel the goodness at the heart of it.

Join us today — Intentional Parenting with Giulia Galli

Today, at 1pm ET / 6pm GMT / 7pm CET, I'm joined by parenting coach Giulia Galli, whose mission is simple and radical in equal measure: to change the world through the way we raise our children.
Meet Giulia in her own words

Register here (pay what you can, from 1$ or CHF or Euro)

Join us next Saturday — Equanimity and the art of wise action with Oana Budica

In person in Geneva, next Saturday, Chinese medicine practitioner Oana Budica will explain how mindfulness of breath functions as a direct training in equanimity (upekkhā): the capacity to remain steady in the presence of gain and loss, praise and blame, comfort and discomfort.

Feel free to arrive from 3.45pm for our 4pm start. This being our very first in-person masterclass, I'm expecting we'll run for about 75 minutes, with time afterwards to stay, chat, and make your way out gradually. Set aside 90 minutes for the full experience.

→ Reserve your spot — 35 CHF, in person in Geneva

Never miss what's coming

Both events live on our Luma calendar — the easiest way to stay in the loop for everything Le Trente, online and in person.

And with that, I wish you a good rest of the day. Hoping to see you soon, at a masterclass, workshop or salon.

Warmly,
